3 Fail Proof Ways To Increase Domain Authority Of Any Website

The domain authority of a website is what determines how a site ranks in the various search engines, and we all know that higher site ranking equates to more traffic. As a blogger or webmaster, you need to constantly monitor your domain authority, and of course also strive to improve it.

If you don’t know what domain authority (DA) rating your site currently has, you need to find out what it is as soon as possible. You can check your site authority using a tool like the SEOmoz toolbar or you can check it for free via moonsy.com.

Your domain authority rating (DA) will be displayed as a number ranging from 1 to 100. Don’t despair if you discover your site has what appears to be a low DA score. Any site with a DA score of 30 or higher is seen as being an “authority” site. If your DA is below thirty then you need to improve it, so please continue reading.

Increase Website Authority in 2 to 4 Weeks

If you want to see quick results, there are three things you need to do right away, and they are:

  1. Use deep linking
  2. Ensure link diversity
  3. Publish high quality content

Before I continue, I just want to warn you that it is almost impossible to get a DA score of 100. Don’t feel disheartened though because it is only the real internet giants like Google and Facebook that have a DA score of 100. Okay, let us take a closer look at the 3 Steps listed above.

Using Deep Linking – I’m only going to touch on this briefly because I have already written an in-depth article titled “Deep Linking for Website Authority and Site Ranking” which you can read here.

In simple terms, deep linking is all about increasing “page authority” by using internal links. A good example would be the link I have just provided, which links this post to the post mentioned above.

Now let’s say I write another ten posts, and I link all ten to the above mentioned page, the “page authority” rating for that page is going to increase. However, you don’t want all your pages to be authority pages. If you have ten posts covering a particular topic, choose the best one, and then focus on making that one your authority page, and make sure that page contains at least one or two links to pages like your “Home” page or your “About” page.

Ensure Link Diversity – In SEO circles, link diversity refers to the range of external links that point back to your website. These backlinks which you have on other sites can drive massive traffic to your site, and in so doing, they have a direct impact on the domain authority of a website. However, you don’t want to have too many backlinks on only one or two sites. In other words, you need diversity; you need to get your backlinks on to as many sites as possible, but they all need to be “High Authority” sites.

Some websites will allow guest bloggers to place at least one or two links in guest posts. If you can only include one link, you should point it to one of your own high authority web pages, or else point it to your Home page. If you can include two links, point one to your Home page and one to a high authority blog post on your site.

Publish High Quality Content – I honestly cannot stress enough just how important QUALITY content is. In terms of the search engines, even simple spelling mistakes can negatively affect your site ranking, so you can just imagine how much damage poor quality content can cause.

Not only must you have quality content, but you also need to add fresh content all the time. But, if there is only one bit of advice I can give you, it would be that you must NEVER write your articles for the search engines; you need to write them for your readers, and ONLY your readers.
