A Beginner’s Guide On How To Generate Massive Traffic To A Blog

The internet is literally flooded with information which can supposedly help to generate massive traffic to your website. Since I’m in the business of helping website owners to fine-tune their SEO (search engine optimization) strategies, I inevitably spend a great deal of time doing research. I come across countless articles which have apparently been written for beginners, but as far as I’m concerned, many of them would make absolutely no sense to a person who has no SEO experience.

Okay, I definitely cannot explain all there is to know about SEO in a single short article, and neither can I discuss all the various methods which can be used for increasing traffic to a site. However, I am going to briefly discuss THREE really useful tips that even a complete novice can begin using today.

Marketing and Article Writing

Article marketing essentially means that you write a few articles relating to your chosen niche, and then you submit those articles to a few of the reputed article directories such as EzineArticles.com and also publish at high quality Web 2.0 authority sites like WordPress.com, Blogger.com, Tumblr.com, HubPages.com, etc. Ideally, your articles should be between 500 and 650 words, although longer articles are also generally accepted. However, unless you are a very skilled writer, shorter articles are recommended. The golden rule to remember is that article directories favor articles that are concise and to the point but at the same time, that are complete.

Now, even though you might be a beginner, you’ll almost certainly have heard about the use of keywords? These are words and phrases which people are likely to type into the search box when looking for the sort of product or service your site is offering. Every article you publish should contain your chosen search terms (keyword or keyword phrase) at least once or twice within the content.

Be careful not to use the keyword or keyword phrase too often though. Generally speaking, a 500 word article should only have the keyword inserted once or twice. It’s also a good idea to use variations of the keyword, but again, don’t overdo it, and NEVER EVER allow keywords to interrupt the natural flow of an article.

At the end of your article you’ll have an opportunity to create your Resource Box. This is your chance to say a bit about yourself or your site or the product you are offering, and you will also be able to place a link to your site. In short, this is where a reader will decide whether they wish to visit your site or not.

GUARANTEE: If you use your keywords and different variations of it too often in an article the search engines are going to penalize your site for Keyword Spamming.

Generate Massive Traffic with Guest Blogging

Guest blogging has always been an incredibly popular SEO tool, but in recent years, it has become an increasingly risky SEO tactic. Right now, you might be wondering why I want to recommend guest blogging for beginners if I know there are risks involved. The answer is quite simple – guest blogging can drive massive traffic to your site!

Posting on other people’s blogs can also be a great deal of fun, regardless of whether you’re doing it for additional traffic or not. Yes there is a risk of being hit with a Google penalty, but you can get around this simply by following a few basic rules:

  • Don’t post on pornographic blogs or websites
  • Stay away from online casinos
  • Never post on “low authority” or “low quality” sites

Google is NOT going to penalize your website if you are guest blogging on other websites which are deemed to be of great value to consumers. If you are posting valuable content on high authority sites, guest blogging can seriously send your traffic through the roof.

Marketing with Social Media

How many people do you know that don’t have a Facebook account and/or a twitter account? You have almost certainly got these accounts as well, so why not make them work for you? Believe me; using these sites to drive traffic to your blog is far easier than many people believe.

Simply log into your accounts and enter keywords relevant to your niche in the search boxes. This will then lead you to “groups” with a shared interest. Look for the best groups, and then join them. Your profile should include a link to your website and some details regarding your business.

Now, if new discussions start, and you actively take part in those discussions, all the other participants are going to be able to view your profile, and you can be sure that many of them are going to visit your site.

TIP: Try to participate in a set number of discussions on several social networking sites, but limit the amount of time you spend doing this each day. One or two hours per day should be ample time to stay involved in active discussions.
